JOshua Davis

Josh grew up in the small community of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, but is now proud to call Morristown his home. Growing up in such a small, rural area, there were very few outlets for artistically minded people, especially young people. When Josh became a student at Walters State Community College in 2007, Laura Ritter quickly recruited him to get involved with Encore Theatrical Company. Josh’s first production was Annie in 2008, followed by dozens of productions in the East Tennessee area in the years since, where he has held leading roles and served as director. Josh’s favorite productions include Beauty and the Beast, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, The Wizard of Oz, and Shrek the Musical just to name a few. Josh is currently an English/Language Arts teacher at Meadowview Middle School here in Morristown and believes that the arts are of vital importance to his students’ quality of life. One of Josh’s biggest goals as a company member of Encore is change the lives and culture of the people in the community through the power of the arts.
