Allison East has been onstage dancing since age three and was involved in theatre set crew in college, but her first theatre production was ETC’s production of Cats in 2007. Since then, she has been involved in multiple productions onstage (Producers, Full Monty, Singin’ in the Rain, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, 9 to 5 the Musical, Shrek the Musical) and behind the scenes (spotlight operator for Les Miserables, assistant stage manager for August Osage County). She obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi and has worked as a pediatric psychologist at Cherokee Health Systems since moving to TN in 2006. She continues to take and teach dance as well in her spare time. She was a founding member of the Downtown Dance Theater and has served as President, Secretary, Ballet Mistress, Assistant Director, Co-Artistic Director, and performer for that organization.
